Oh great, now I have that dang song on my brain ........I think you are
right when you write how the marriage with your MOm when he was at sea could very well have been the happiest time for them both.

I remember it too - and now I WILL be singing it for the rest of the day. Unlike TAPS' son, my doggies like when I sing, and often join me.

I'm guffawing because Son #1 walked passed my door and I started reading him the lyrics. Then I said, "I can't remember the tune' and he said, "Oh, please, don't sing this morning. Please don't sing." HAHAHA
