Pat you have drawn the short straw I have bean thinking of an excuse to leave this blog I suppose I could canter off or say I had the trots, but I would make a pig's head of it. I suppose one's man's meat is another man's poison. Grandma had religious principals, I admire.

I fear it's our aesthetic sense that makes horses off limits

for the dinner plate. But I know for a fact when I first moved to Seattle, "the Emerald City" and shopped the Public Market, there was a butcher shop that sold only horse meat, and the ground meat and steaks looked quite the same as beef. Neither have horses been forbidden as has pork, which my 7th Day Adventist grandma called 'an abomination of the Lord."
