ouch ...and yes icing is definitely the best for now to stop

bleeding into the tissues and to reduce inflammation which in turn helps ease the pain. You may take a couple of Tylenol to help with pain when you go to bed tonight.

Sounds nasty. Pulled or strained muscles and joints are usually quite painful. And I could never remember the proper combination . . . is it heat first, then cold, or cold first, then heat? Actually, your best bet for the time being is probably to rest it. No more cross-country skiing for a while . . .
