What a great read you have taken one word and built me a whole scene..

now was that really a cop or was he dressed like a cop really a crim. getting rid of evidence....Hmnnnnn.

and the snotty dollies...if they were really well off instead of wanna be...they would have had 'the help" do the laundry, and they would have been secure enough in their skins to chat with pretty saucy little you!!

The last time I was at a laundromat there was a man about twice my size that was half black and half white--literally....at least all that I could see.  He did have clothes on--halloween fuzzy pajama bottoms and a wife-beater shirt.  His whole bald head and face was divided in half right down the middle of his nose.  The left side was totall tattood black.  His left shoulder and arm and hand were totally covered with black tattoos and I assume his leg was too.  I couldn't help wondering if his penis was also, but I restrained myself and didn't ask.

i love the fact that you can have it all done in 1 to 2 hours....i hate having to race or wait for a washer and/or dryer.  I hate how the change machine rarely has enough change in it or that someone is smoking in the laundromat and smelling up my clothes before i get a chance to wear them!

best thing about a laundromat is

that you can do several loads at once, especially if you've neglected making the trip for a while.

I love these vignettes of yours - always astute and witty! The allusion to the Stepford Wives is brilliant...

You were the kiddie Pat. To be quite honest, I don't take too much notice of different coloured washing, I don't think it runs like it used to. Of course towels one has to wash separately. But what I usually do now is to use a short wash and then use the rinse cycle again, I like to get rid of all the washing powder deposits. Of course and use nonbiological powders. Fortunately I do not have to worry too much about drying in the winter as the clothes provide a bit of humidity. In the summer I like to put the clothes outside, but I am annoyed at times by the little birds pooping.

Great post, Past-B. You can make even a laundromat visit a fun read. Kudos!
