Did I ever tell you how much I like your poetry?
Well, if I did, I'm telling you again.

Re: BC-A

Thank you, you have picked up on an ambiguous point for me, I wrote this poem and then wasn't sure if it was about a peaceful old guy or about death - it could be either and even I don't know which one I meant

Re: WileyJohn

Thanks Wiley, I hope to become so peaceful one day but I think I might need to retire (to a cave somewhere) first

Re: Rumor

I think so too, although he probably has had to work hard to get there and has problems I know nothing about

Re: Troosha

Perhaps we simply need to gain experience and wisdom...

Re: JimmyA

I think it's something we grow towards, as we pass our fears and our passions mellow into love

Re: drohan254

Speaking for myself, I am a most selfish poet who seeks a life of peace where I can choose the challenges that most interest me without having to deal with the mudane ones (like work and paying bills :P ).  Nice to see you again, my friend

I will take peace at the end of a hard fought battle, too! It's the best reward for me! sam

A great reward he got there...I wonder how many find themselves wishing the reward came earlier.

A pretty good state of mind to savour.....  why does it sometimes take until we're old to achieve such peace?

I hope some day we can all feel that way, shadow or no . . .

hi friend

That makes me wonder , to an old man may be it is a reward to have a peaceful life at last but to a  poet does he seek a peaceful life with no challanges ..

Old man

It's so true.  As you get older life's seems to trouble you less.
