Some very telling statistics there, especially the one about how so many of them are born right here in the United States.

The Crips and the Bloods are, for the most part, uneducated and delinquent kids whose gangs eventually ended up being part of drug cartels pushing cocaine. So he is suggesting similarities in the romance and excitement (fed to the population in buckets by none other than Hollywood), and maybe the sense of belonging and rebellion that many young people seem to crave? It is sad that so many of present day children, whatever the nationality or religion, see destruction as the only solution.

We knew this already Naut... at lest I did and believe you me I am no good example of "well informed" American... The news and the papers are always carrying some kind of failed plot or minor affront, usually buried in the back pages unless it happens in NY, then its front page news. The perpetrators are usually as the article says and to our shame Americans. I think that our intelligence agencies are doing a great job at identifying and neutralizing these individuals that for the most part seem to me to be not the sharpest tool in the shed. Honestly, when a crazed person is bent in doing harm it is very hard to anticipate what he or she would do and therefore I imagine it is much harder, if not impossible, to stop them before they act. It is sobering though to see all those statistics in black and white. Thanks for sharing that. xoxoxo
