Those are great points about what the lack of care meant in the bigger picture...I often find that the second time is not as great/bad/worse/etc. as the first time.

pretty tough to board another ship and know right off that it isn't

going to be as great an adventure as you have just finished.

Maybe you couldn't forget the experience of the former ship, and your nose gave that away so perhaps they weren't sure what smelled worse, them or the ship. LOL

Part of the specific reason would be caused by you having already lost some respect for them with the ship's condition the way it was?
