a little more abouit religions
people created religions as an explanation of a world they could not explain.
then religious edifices seemed ideal to install laws for people's good -- then the hierarchy of religion discovered that it could rule people -- lives, behavior, etc. -- this was (and still is) the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil -- a system of religious mores to define good and evil - the priests and hierarchy then became "as gods", and still are, to the lay adherents.
religion was the way to explain the universe -- through what humans could observe at the time.
however, when science began explaining the universe, religion saw its explanations in peril, thus its power. Defending indefensible explanations and fading farther back into obscure obsolescence

i don't think it really matters what religion you choose if any...what matters is how you honor the life you are given....it seems you have chosen well

the god you have doubts about and that many (including my son, Kooka)
cannot believe in
really is a amalgam of human creations thoughout the millenia.
If you look closely you will notice many similArities with Roman, Greek, other mythologies.
No wonder.
You have described for yourself a better.
Love the Dude. The Dude abides.

It's a scary concept, Dude, to think that god is in each of us.
Especially when you ponder what some of us are capable of, and how most of us fall short of true humanity. But the alternatives are a damn sight scarier. I like your thought process and where you're going.

excellent read I really enjoyed reading this post. It is good to see you
back and I was just thinking about you and missing your posts this morning.
I find your write through your thinking to your conclusion really interesting, Nay, exciting. I realized years ago that the Church was no place for me and I am a Christian who believes like you. God is love and he dwells in us and us in him? her? whatever. There is no way for my small human mind to describe God.
