Re: Sam
Sam Arthur blames it on me for leaving the kitchen door open. I know he is the culprit though he keeps racking the heat up, he feels the cold being on blood thinner .
Well we rarely have meat, things keep putting us off. Hope you do not mind me commenting on your garden blog, I will stop if you wish.

The gas prices have sure been climbing as of late...I enjoy reading literature with age-related themes. A lot of things we can learn as we get older.

Your blog is always fascinating! I love the roses,
I must agree about the heating bills, I don't turn mine off at all with having the wee ones.
I find older folk fasinating and the music from their time era was lovely especially white cliffs of dover, to have to watch war planes instead of blue birds over the white cliffs of Dover, poor souls they lost husbands, sons, brothers... As I say great blog!!

Well you get more Dollars for the pond Justi at present about half as much again. I remember when an old man always called a dollar equivalent to 5shillings A quarter of the old pound.

Been banned at many schools Naut remember an old boy chasing us down the street after one flew off and cracked his window he caught one boy and we had to pay four shillings. He mended it himself. We used to play those records as kids they were out of date but good fun.

I like to keep the driveway clear but the hedge hides the highway. Your gas meter and my oil tank are costing a fortune for oil this winter. Heating will be over $2,000.00 what with all the freezing cold and snow we've had. Your flowers bring the feel of spring in the cold and snow. Our electricity bill is just under $150.00 a month. Lovely poetry about Rosemary.

I have a new jumper the colour of the Rose for today. We have just had a
huge oil bill but what can one expect with it -25 outside for weeks at a time. One wouldn't like the pies to burst.
The hborse meat scandal is a disgrace, anyone would think it was just after the war again.

I've (knowingly) had horse in Belgium once, and it wasn't bad...And I like the way you have the lady remember her life through old songs, and that she likes her conkers...I wonder if kids still play that game today...

I loved the rose! And, my goodness it seems that your gas bill was rather high! Mine was high this past month, too! I pay mine every month because if I got behind it would be so hard to catch up! On one of my bills last year the gas company thanked me for my excellent payment record; they are trying to set me up to keep paying on time! LOL! I did enjoy your poem, too! The horse meat scandal has to be a bit unnerving, too! I think I might be tired of chicken if I would have had that many in the past as well. However, we eat a lot of chicken in my house because it's my daughter's favorite! sam

Thanks for the lovely rose!
Reading your posts is like visiting a mystical land of fancy and illusion, where age is a sort of weed that sometimes has a nice blossom, but seems to overtake everything you wanted in the garden.
