- Go to At Sea...Part XXVI
I did read this one when you first wrote it, but it looks like I didn't comment. So, I just read it again and moving on to the next part.

That feeling you describe... That excitement in the midst of a new and potentially dangerous situation is truly a mystery to me. In my job I have heard it time and time again from those who have survived heroin experiences... they describe it as exciting or exhausting but now scary... and when asked directly: "Were you scared?" they answer invariably " No, I did not have time to be scared" I saw this after Andrew ( a devastating hurricane that hit Miami a while ago) and after Katrina as well ... plus many of the refugees that arrive at the coast of South Florida and are brought to the hospital for evaluation , in spite of being dehydrated and half dead tell us that the vogage through the Florida straights was an amazing one and talk about what they saw and felt rather than how they almost died... I guess our minds, when faced with the inevitable, make the best of it by trying to keep us "entertained" and functioning :-) Our body is indeed a marvel dear friend and your story gets better and better :-) xoxoxo

come your way and one where everymoment must be savoured , experienced, stored in your memory bank. I say good for you, taking a big bite out of life like this. Keep writing.

You're description of the waves is right on with my experience of sailing on the Atlantic, but I never knew the 'pysics' of it all that you explained. Still a wonderful story pal.

It is definitely a worthwhile adventure! When you talked about the waves I remembered one from my son! One of the guys on his crew was half asleep when he came to work and he cautioned him to wake up! But he did not and I forgot what he was doing but he threw himself off the ship! Crazy but they were able to rescue him! sam

I think you probably had the experience needed to tough it out Naut. Also a good digestive system, I don't know what squid smells like ? Seaweed maybe, I don't think I could have eaten any aboard the ship, but perhaps you could not swallow raw eggs.

That's so real. In the moment you're just experiencing.
Only later does it hit what might have happened.
