This series has definitely given me more respect for the risk
that went into harvesting the fish I've so far taken for granted. These extreme conditions are an adventure to be looked back on with an appreciation of one's luck. Survival is not necessarily guaranteed. Nice work!!!

An informational post and a great read. I did experiencegreat waves like that on the Atlantic aboard a Greek ship named the Columbia, going to France in 1954.

Thank you Naut but I think I will give both a miss . Luxury liner would be more up my street, but one of those has just had probs. So I think it will have to be a submarine.
Those fishing boats earn their money in fine weather but as you tell it pretty hairy when old Neptune starts splashing around.

This is a great series - your desciptions put me on that boat with you...which is why I don't want you asking again how high the darned waves are....
