The first one 'captures', or at least marvellously hints at, to the degree that is possible, the ephemeral nature of our perceptions and fleeting thoughts - very, very well done...The second one is just as good, even if vastly different, and with that hilarious ending which is actually dead serious...You deserve two stars tonight...

Clarity does not come to me as quickly, on anything, as it used to. I was once quite quick to get the point of anything, now I have to ponder for a while. I'm often the last one to laugh at a joke after everyone else has gone on to something else.

LOL - you're right. I imagine Uncle Fred will steer clear of any permanent relationship after hearing all that bit! And dor the first poem, I think it is a real emotion for some. Maybe the poet was looking too hard.
