I have a feeling that, as with almost anything else going on in the world today, money and finances has more to do with people's reactions to these various groups than the religion they supposedly represent. That's why, when these militant groups first began their negative escapades against the West, the first thing we did was to try to cut them off financially, and pose various sanctions that would basically "bankrupt" their efforts. Personally, I think that all organized religions are detrimental to mankind. Not necessarily their beliefs, but the will and ideaology the organization itself forces onto its members. They can't all be right! Just my opinion . . .

I peraonally don't think it is fearing a religion inasmuch as it is the fear of the message of a religion! sam

Re:

Wise insights well expressed, Adnohr and I applaud your success! Have you written anything about it; I would be interested in reading. And awareness is the necessary first step toward change. Thank you for sharing.

Katray, I've been reading back over your posts, and I know what you are saying. With all the revelations of corruption in our own governments, whoever is at the helm, it's so darned difficult to know who to trust...or if we should trust anyone with more clout than our own mayor...and he's not above suspicion either. It seems the desire for the almighty $$, and its twin, the power, determines how a leader of any country will act. However - an aside on the 'minority within minority' notion - please do not underestimate the 'power of one'. I have seen it happen over and over and over again - in fact, I have been one of the 'ones' who changed the mind and actions of a municipality with a population of 5,000; it took 6 months. I agree there can be some fear mongering, but being aware is wise.
