It just may work out! Of course, anyone in that position, meeting someone or a group for the very first time, will be understandably nervous. Some people get overly quiet ( like me ) and some people get talkative, or even silly, out of sheer nervousness. I have a friend who, when meeting people for the first time, rattles off some of the silliest jokes you've ever heard in the hopes of winning them over quickly! Unfortunately, it rarely works . . .

It must be really hard meeting the partner of your children, I have that to come but thankfully not for many many years. I hope things work out.
