There is nothing I hate to hear as the word "declined", you are lucky to have your brother with you at the time CCT. God must be watching out for you, and thanks for the Wulfy Dunn.

I myself have not used an ATM to withdraw money...It is interesting to read of how Wolfy Dunn reacts to the speaker.

I have never understood how people can forget to take their money but I have been assured by the bank that it gets recredited to their account if the machine eats it again

Re:

Not many proper Englishmen around Adnohr, but I noticed one or two new bloggers from UK.  Not many seem to stay for long these days, but they seem to be afraid of approaching you tough gals. Yes I lost the pin on one account and I was given the third degree for a week before they accepted that I was not a tea leaf.

Re: CCT

One has to go to them too often these days Naut, but I suppose one can pay for groceries by card and usually get a few dollars if needed, well pounds. Yes MS Wolfy is very fluid.

Re: Pat

Yes Pat cash is King. once one starts debit cards one should pay it off before a charge is added as you say though some firms have system of including a percentage as it goes through.

Trouble is Wiley the assistants think everyone is stranger these days, once they knew one by sight. Times change.

Re: Sam

Never ever give your card to anyone unless you want to go overdrawn

Tally ho! LOL! My son took my card one time and he did not put in the correct PIN and the machine kept it and I had to wait until the next day to retrieve it! Needless to say he has not had his hand on my card since! LOL! sam

ChiffChaff

I would hate to have that happen to me but I'm not often at the machine, I still go through the tellers. Enjoyed the poem and your view of her derriere on horseback.

Tally Ho indeed...and I have to be so on the ball and awake when I

take money from the bank machine. It is expensive collecting from Australia so i take out a bit more rather than go often.

The banks here are looking for a way to add a fee

at the time of purchase if you charge something - so the item itself costs 4% more at the time of sale, and then you pay annual fees and interest on any unpaid balance, including the extra 4%. I've seen credit card interest go as high as 30%, which seems like loan shark rates to me. No need to worry about muggers, the bank's already done the job.

CCT

I use those machines all the time - I don't trust them, but I use them anyway. Unless I'm at my own bank - in that case I prefer to go in and flirt with the tellers...And I love the poem - that line about 'decanting' the lady is just priceless...

LOL - love the poem! I can picture a proper English gentleman using such an approach. Sometimes it takes awhile before the bank will credit your account if there's a problem with the machine...had the experience. It was a hassle!!
