the reason i voted for obama was
the other fellow was a hell of a lot scarier, no need to go into a debate, i am not stupid or am i being offensive. just that in 3 years we can try again.......now on to the real issue, no the media is crap to put it mildly. tv dumbs us down and instead of saying ok i have a president i do not like , lets work to make the best of it, we form a line, you on this side and me on the other...........lets just run the president down for the next 3 years and the next 4 years, and on and on because the way it looks 50 percent of the people will always be on the other side of the line. now who is stupid.

Forgive me, Utah, but this is the first chance I've had to come back to this particular discussion. I think there may have been a little confusion here. When I responded with "you'd have to move to outer space to find such a country," I really thought I was agreeing with you on every count. You began each diatribe with "I don't want to live in a country where . . . " and then explained a "negative aspect." So in other words, I assumed you were saying that this is what's actually happening in our country right now, and you wish it weren't. I agree. But I believe that the "news media" throughout the world does pretty much the same thing . . . tells its citizens what they think they want to hear, and not necessarily the truth! Yes, all forms of propaganda are alive and well ( thank you, Mr. Goerbels ) and are used in every form of government. It's called control. It's called manipulation. And it's been going on for centuries. Sure, my sources of information are sometimes skewered, but can any of us really know the absolute truth of everything going on behind closed doors in Washington?

But this is not a democracy it is a representative republic, not to mention the miss information feed to the public by a complicit media, and when you think of it Naut, did not the German people think that they wanted Hitler, and did not the Chinese think Mao was the cats meow before the mass murders began? There is still time to change the out come if only the people knew the truth, if not, we must brush up on the Koran you and I, because if we go down, the whole world falls.

There is no doubt that Obama is attempting to bring about fundamental change in America, in ways most Americans are not aware of yet. But Americans elected him - many because they support his aims, many because they didn't pay attention and out of sheer ignorance! And his support is still 52 %, the last time I looked, although the accuracy of that figure may well be in doubt. Nonetheless, if the majority of Americans wanted him, they've got what they wanted - that's democracy. And if they didn't want him, well that's democracy too - it punishes the ignorant...
Oh, and I blocked Xeno, the first time in six years that I've blocked anyone, and I hope it will be the only time. I can take stupidity, but I won't accept offensiveness...
