Beautiful but sad poem, C.C. Pancakes with Canadian maple syrup and melting butter is to die for! I only buy free range chickens too, and still prefer fish. If I ever caught an eel, I would NEVER go fishing again!!

Re: sweet and poignant, the memory

Sounds delicious Ciel . Arthur is an amateur fisherman he told me he once caught a massive eal. He stood on the deserted beach and it stood up like a big snake and stared at him.

fortunately  it shook the hook out, one he was glad to get away from.

Mmm, reminds me I've been craving pancakes, lol..

Fish not methinks, haha..Too much mercury or some such toxins in our waters over here...The poem is deeply poignant and touching, CC. A Father's love is meaningful and can heal past wounds if given a chance..

ChiffChaff

We just love chicken wings, tell Arthur for when we come he should bake them in honey. Great how good Arthur is with computers, hmmmm. Cry was a very special poem Bro.

that poem blows me out of the water...and there are many reasons not to ask

a child why they have rejected their parent.

and you pop down the street and into a shop and have pancakes if you want them. you can still eat the veggies later. Just don't tell.

Some days it is difficult to come up with things to write about our lives...Pride has a big impact on relationships.

Pride has a way of getting in the way! I think it's good to eat healthy but I would rather have a pancake drizzled in maple syrup! LOL! sam

sweet and poignant, the memory

of children grown into their own lives, and out of ours...

Come and have fish with me, I like to bake tilapia in a sweet and spicy sauce... toss some leeks on top, for green veg...   And if I really feel like cooking, I can do a proper fish 'n' chips. Arthur can have his prefab wings.

Mine is getting so slow, my computer I mean. I must find me an Author to build me a fast one. Most folks could send me a letter through the post and I would get it faster than it takes to get into my email, or at least it seems as though. Speaking of pancakes, I am thinking of French toast. If I put a sprig of fresh parsley with it can that be my vegetable if I promise not to get syrup on it? The parsley I mean.

My old love stories do not soften with age, do not take on a soft edge

of forgetfulness - remembered deception cuts as sharply as ever.
