Yes, Wiley said it, this is a great post. You have a way of sharing warmth with people, and we get to share it too through your writing.

You are such a gift to folks in this world, and your depth of knowledge is fascinating and such a gift for you to share that.Thank you much.I always learn something because most of my knowledge is machinery.

Once I had an urge to oil paint. I did pretty much exactly what you advised him to do. The results? I did some of the most awful stuff a person could believe. I got rid of the oil paints and the next time I had an urge to paint went back to my watercolors.

Re: Nautikos, -- the two Js...
During my time out from the library, June moved to Chicago with her daughter, and Jean seems to have dropped out of sight. Saw her at Coffee Heaven a month or so ago, but we didn't get a chance to catch up.

I like it how you seem to engage folk in conversation Pat. I really wish I could paint, but the brain will not cooperate. I do think some of the paintings making fortunes, well no use grumbling about that when a footballers pay etc is tops.

I love these tales of your encounters with people, and this one was particularly nice because you obviously fanned a small flame that was already glowing in that man's mind, and maybe helped create a great painter...LOL...And this reminds me that we haven't heard much of the two J's, always interesting if also a little sad...
