I agree I think....not sure what you mean though. I mean living in a park doesn't mean slums because they are lovely in America.

It's that way here in our apartment complex.  Every month the bill is higher--not for the basic rent, but for some added on fee that one can't quite put a finger on.

Unfortunately he knows you do not want to spend the money to move so you are kind of in his power.  I am sorry to hear that.  Its a shame there are so many unescrupulous landlords out there  (((((((((Lustor)))))))))  Hugs for you xoxoxoxo

I'm glad that the manager was able to talk them out of raising the price that much.

if it is twice within the year he can't do that I think. You can only

put the rent up once a year...but it stinks doesn't it. Everything never goes down, only up.

Twice in the short time you have been there is a bit much for me, too! I suspect it will continue to rise and rise! Perhaps it's time to find a new place with amenities if one is going to pay nearly top dollar! I know it would be tough to start over but darn where's the happy medium, I don't see it where you are right now! sam

That's probably true. The same principle applies to store fronts. A block of stores in a strip mall are usually owned by the same company, and each store has individual rents to pay. When a store is empty for one reason or another, the landowner loses money, and passes the extra burden onto the other stores, which of course isn't fair. And with two raises in a year, you should at least have paved roads! Glad the manager talked the powers-that-be out of that $25 raise! That would have been a little ridiculous!
