Perhaps. You may be totally awed by a magician's trick, but once you learn how the trick was performed, it may lose much of its luster!

i do agree as you say the tapestry picture loses none of its beauty with

close inspection of the blending of colors the clever workmanship in its creation.

Depends what it pertains to Ray, I would think but most mysteries have a habit of revealing trickles of insight after a while. I wonder if many knew, your dad may have when Gracie Fields sang I have the biggest aspidistra in the world.
