I love a gracefully-aged face on an older person..the laugh lines, the frown wrinkles, the cleft between the eyebrows...such stories they tell without any words.

Re:

I too have great genes and its only lately I have started to look my age, but I think that is because of my white hair, my mom was almost 91 when she past away  And most people think my kids are younger than they are

Great Post love and I am with you, some gals just have so much work done

on the face, they can't have any expression or even talk properly. Joan Rivers really is a classic and I had a friend who was truly beautiful at 40 but at 50 she had ruined her looks and she had botox lips that you saw coming before the rest of her turned the corner. You and I baby, we are Sisters doing it for themselves.

I can understand wanting to look good... specially if one is used to looking great it is hard to accept those looks fading... but when one has a rich inner life, outside stuff is not that important.  On the other hand,  there are some things that set us off.  Let me give you an example.  I have been blessed by genes in that I do not have many wrinckles... my grandma died at 88 and I wish I had the legs she had :-)  and her face was old... but not  lined ... I have a few lines  already :-(  but I don't mind most of them,  now there is two I could do without,  they appeared right at the end of my lips and they drove me crazy.  It was not vanity, I swear, Its just that everytime I looked in a mirror they reminded me I was getting old... Funny the other lines did not bother me... I thought and think that they make me look mature but kind of sexy
:-)  but those two!!!  Anyway... I went to the dermatologist and asked me if there was something I could do about it without going as far as a facelift.  He said sure and two little injections later...success!!!  no more labial lines  !!!!  Truly well worth it :-)  and it should last about 7 months at which time I could either do it again or consider something more drastic ( which I do not think I will  loll)  Be well sweetie  xoxoxo
