I have a 1929 Remington Portable on display in my "office."
Sometimes my little grandkids want to know what it is, but the minute I insert a piece of paper and put it on a low table, they can type. Doesn't take them long to learn to return the carriage at the end of each line.

I took typing in high school but it was many years after that before I owned one, then the computer came along and it ended up at a thrift store although many years later! sam

It's amazing how much things have changed over the years. Typewriter's are practically extinct and touch typing is super common.

LOL - the first one I ever used would clack so loudly that people would purposely come up behind and touch me just to see me jump!

HI’ve been looking up fonts. Many in Word were originated more recently and by Microsoft for web reading. But others are for display love. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

So much in this new World, this 21st Century has lost what to us
is barely History. And I find very little interest from younger people as well. My GRam never spoke about her past to me much, but I remember every word that she told me.
