Re:

I'm sure that's true, Utah. And again, it's something that people either don't fully realize, or else simply choose to ignore. My wife gets very upset when she sees a commercial for an upcoming rodeo, knowing that those animals are being tortured for people's amusement. And the bull fights are even worse! The poor bull is pierced and struck and slowly bleeds to death, while onlookers shout and cheer! Barbaric!

Re:

That it is, FSI. That's one of the reasons my wife and I try to watch as many of the different nature programs that are out there! It's amazing sometimes what you learn about the world around you! Probably far more than you would have ever learned in school!

Re:

That's probably true, mariss. I think the world would be in a much better state if people would just realize that it is possible to coexist with the animals without torturing them or hunting them into extinction! Glad my little story was of a subject matter that was amongst your favorites!

Thank you, sir Wiley. Glad you enjoyed it.

Re:

Yes they are, lustor. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, many scientists feel that dolphins rank just below Man and just above chimps in intelligence. However, truth be told, there are probably a lot of dolphins and chimps out there who may actually be smarter than some of the people you come across each day!

You're quite welcome, TAPS. It's nice to read something like this once in a while, isn't it?

Re:

Thank you, Sinome. Yes, it's sometimes hard to believe, but there are people out there who think that animals either don't feel pain as we do, or else realize it, but simply don't care. Just ask the various companies that insist on continuing to use animals to test their products, never considering the pure torture they're putting these animals through! Arrogance is probably an understatement . . .

Re:

I'm sure of that, sam. I've seen many animal and nature shows that have proven the loyalty of dogs to their owners time and time again! I think that if the bulk of the animal kingdom had both opposable thumbs and the ability of speech, they would have taken over this planet a long time ago!

Re: Jimmy..I totally agree with you..

That's probably true, Rumor. And the best way to encapsulate that thought is to consider that animals never kill for sport! It's either for food or self-defense. You'll never walk into a bear cave and see the heads of its victims on display on the walls as trophies!

Thanks to you as well, Kabu. Knowing how Mr. Graysome is treated, I already suspected you might enjoy a story such as this!

Re:

Thanks, adnohr. And you're right . . . there are those people who don't know, well, you know! Come on, now! Don't think about it and get yourself upset! Let's get your dander under control . . . !

Re: Jimmy

I didn't think you were, Naut. In fact, from what I've been reading in many people's blogs over the years, I don't suspect there will be any bloggers who feel that way . . .

We once freed a deer from a fence, it did not come back to thank us, but that was okay too and to think other creatures do not feel pain, why even the lowly worm squirms when you put him on the hook.

It is fascinating what science reveals.

I absolutely love dolphin stories!!! They are among my favorites; with their friendliness,  goodness and zest for living.  So glad the diver understood and helped.   Any person of sensibility who has been around animals knows they have feelings and they are generally underated.

What a great feel good story! Animals are more capable than people give them credit for! We had an extremely intelligent dog when my kids were young! He was also a great protector of the children, too! sam

Jimmy..I totally agree with you..

Sometimes animals show more intelligence and sensitivity than humans do....

A wonderful story! And I am not one of those who think animals don't feel pain, or don't know how to communicate...
