Nautikos

That can't be true, I got throwed aboard the Ivernia when I was drunk once. They never invited me even in the brig.

It is interesting reading of the sea/ship etiquette.

After reading your post, I wondered if a group of squid was called a "school" like a school of fish, so I looked it up and found that it is a shoal of squid, and why.

Hmm - like Kabu, I learned something too. It makes sense. What doesn't though is that there was no-one to meet and greet...is that normal in sea-faring too?

I've seen movies with the line 'permission to come aboard?' so I guess

this is understood, but I hadn't seen it from the crew perspective. Looking forward to the next installment.

now that is something I didn't know but when one thinks about it, it makes

real sense...and I realize that I have never gone aboard without an invitation...nice to learn something new every day.
