The lost souls can often find their ways together. I think it is great that the two of you befriended each other. Kids cannot be as capable or as strong as adults; that is why they are kids.

I couldn't comment yesterday, this was so powerful
and I'm dealing with someone who's also walking wounded. The pendulum always swings back to the light again. Once you know that, the dark isn't quite so powerful.

It's so terribly sad that a society can let down its children that badly, that the only solace the kids can find is in the empty and eventual evil promise of drugs. But they need something to grab hold of, and often it's the only thing available out there at the time. This is a powerful poem, UtahJay. And heartbreaking, because for some it is still happening.
