Re: ODD THE MISREPRESENTATION OF ISLAM HERE

Xeno, as you may recall, I don’t usually respond to you. But today I couldn’t resist, because that you want to instruct me in matters of history is just too damn funny...Why don’t you write about things you know? There must be something...Oh, and when you do, do it on your own blog...

ODD THE MISREPRESENTATION OF ISLAM HERE

historically Islam has been far more tolerant of other religions than has Christianity.

the Koran lists Christians and Jews as brothers to Muslims, worshipping the same God -- not infidels.

In the Middle Ages, Jerusalem and Spain are prime examples.  In both cases, under Muslim rule, both religions were tolerated and their adherents held in high regard.

But -- in the case of Jerusalem, when the Crusaders conquered the City, both Jews and Eastern Orthodox Christians were massacred.  In Spain, when the Christian Ferdinand and Isabella conquered, the Jews, who enjoyed great status under the Moors, were slaughtered and tortured under the Christian Inquisition.

Our present problems stem not from religious roots, but from Imperialism.  British, French, and now, U.S. attempts at dominance and certain actions against Muslms.  You will notice the increase in member ship in Al Qaida in the past decade or so.  It is not religion that is hated -- that is just an excuse by certain fanatics -- it is the U.S.

With the attitude stated in this blog entry, we can only look forward to more of the same -- an endless war of East versus West.  Is there a way we can end it?

It's hard to hear it over the Rap music......

We are heading into a very dangerious time.....Journalists mocked Mitt Romney for bringing up Mali in the third presidential debate, which goes to prove that only ignorance as massive as their arrogance can sustain liberal snarkiness.......

As you say, the medias are very careful to avoid mentioning anything to do with their 'infidel' hatred. Warned by those who don't want things to escalate on both sides, probably. Somebody had better smarten up...and quickly.

I don't know... They say that we do not hear of the plots against us that are foiled by the powers to be here in the States... that we only hear of the ones they fail to squash in time... but I have to confess taht I am surprised the terrorists have not tried anything more elaborate... or better planned yet.  I pray it stays this way.  Be well Naut  xoxoxo
