Re:
It sure will be, sam. You usually don't hear stories such as this, one that starts with a slight tragedy and ends with something special. One of the most stunning aspects of this story, at least to me, is that the couple is still together, ready to celebrate their 70th anniversary! 70th! Amazing!

Re:
"Stuck," Utah, seems like a negative way to look at it. I hope whatever you're moving on to is bigger and better, and satisfies your spirit. I always enjoy your various posts, and I guess I'll have that pleasure for at least a few more weeks!

Re:
I was hoping someone else did, lustor. It was such a rare feel-good story that I thought I had to share it, especially after watching and hearing all of the bad news out there!

A heart warming post Jimmy...I closed my subscription yesterday thinking I would have time to say goodbye and learned that one must say those things before pressing the button, so I reopened it for a prolonged goodbye as I did not want to leave without letting my friends know how much I will miss them. So now I guess you are stuck with me tell February.

Re:
Thanks, adnohr. It's nice to be able to read or hear a story like this once in a while, isn't it? What made it that much more special, at least to my wife and I, was that it was the final story of a news program, and after seemingly hearing story after story of pain, death and destruction, it was a wonderful piece to end the program with! It gives people a nice sense of hope for humanity . . .

Re: JimmyA
Oh, come on, Wiley! Where's your spirit of romance? I certainly couldn't have ended that story with something like "They lived sadly ever after!" I had to say something hopeful and uplifting!

You're quite welcome, Kabu. Stories of this nature seem to be getting fewer and further between, so it's nice to be able to relay one like this once in a while.

Re: Jimmy
Thanks, Naut. Yeah, my wife had to grab a few tissues herself when this story was first aired on the evening news. It's nice to know that there are still people out there like this stamp collector's son.

Re: What a great story!
That it was, Ciel. We know that there are indeed a lot of "bad apples" out there, but it's nice to know that not everyone is "rotten to the core." And I know that something wonderful will happen to that stamp collector's son as a result of his kindness and generosity.

Thanks, FSI. After my previous post, I thought that a story of this nature was more in need of relaying. It's nice to hear of such things once in a while, isn't it?

I am glad that the collector's son tracked them down and delivered the letters back to them with no reward. What an uplifting post.
