I'm presently reading a book on Spiritualism, in which the author mentions the Masters and Prophets. For Muhammad, she wrote that the revelations he received from Allah eventually formed the Quran, but as he taught, Muhammed "began to draw fierce resistance from fellow Arabs....the local clans also scorned the social reforms included in the Quran, which mandated caring for widows and orphans, and greater rights for women, who at the time were treatly largely as chattel." (I have to admit that I haven't read all the Quran yet, although I did buy a copy especially for that purpose.) She went on to later write that often when Muhammed turned his back, the Arabs returned to the mistreatment and old ways instead of following the rules of Islam. It makes me wonder of maybe she hasn't read the Quran either. Or were there revisions made to the Quran later?

I have no ills with what one does or does not believe, and like you, as long as I am not forced to believe, or to disbelieve. If my neighbor goes to hell (in my mind) for what he believes it is no skin off of my knees. I just wish for the same respect as we all deserve. I know what I believe, I know what I have seen, and I know who it was that saved me, just because my sister in law does not, does not mean that I love or respect her any the less, nor you Naut, who I respect deeply. As for old Mo...Oh well...But the Easter Bunny is real...I have pictures.

It has been my experience that people believe what they want to believe... the key word there being "want".  Speaking about the apparition of the Virgin Mary to a little shepherdess in Lourdes the chief investigator said " Those who believe ( what happened , happened) need no proof and for  those who do not believe, no proof would ever be enough.  I always thought that was a great truth :-)  Please don't get discouraged.  You my friend are doing a great service to those of us who "want" to know what is really going on and you are reaching many more people than you think because we who read you, comment what you have said with  our friends and they comment it with their friends and so forth and so on...  The reaction to that friend of yours is typical of what I have encounter among my Muslim friends... and though understandable ( to accept Mohamed was not a good man or a prophet  would deny everything they believe) its always shocking to me to see how otherwise good people can be blind about such an evident issue.  I will never understand how they reconcile what is done in the name of their prophet and what their conscience dictates to them but, what can we do... other than what you are already doing by enlightening those that want to see the light.  Thank you for that  :-)  xoxoxo
