I've also heard that spraying watered-down citrus, like lemon juice, works similarly. No matter what, your home will end up very aromatic!

your home must smell so beautiful and I expect if you keep burning that
lavendour oil it will help no end. Now some plants around outside and that may help keep the bitey things away as well.
