Folks around me talk about getting a million dollars and I always tell to spend the first $100,000 and put the rest away for a comfortable retirement! sam

It is fun to dream that dream. They say to do nothing for awhile. get used
to the feel before doing anything. Then I agree with you, instead of giving away cash, set up a charity or college scholarships for poor kids ...what ever you want to do but yes, something on going seems a brilliant idea to me.
of course one would make retirement for themselves comfy but who needs millions or billions.

Very wise it is to be careful who one gives money too...Paul Newman is an excellent example.

Just like the word assume, the word if can also be somewhat dangerous. It's fun to speculate, but I don't think any of us really knows what we would do if we actually came into a large sum of money like that. I'm sure many of us would be generous and charitable as well, but the vultures are everywhere, and take many forms. And remember, money is not the root of all evil! It's the love of money that's the root of all evil ( I Timothy 6:12 ). I am not an extravagant person at all, and would probably just get the "basics" I would need to live and give away the rest . . .
