This is all very sad to read. It is so hard to get families together (in laws) now days. It is not fair to you in any way that I can see and my heart aches for you not seeing your grandchildren as you would like and deserve, and having everything turned upside down. I think about all I can do from here is to send you hug and smiles back and pray for you and those little guys who miss you so much.

To be mistress of your own domain again is worth it! And I'm sure that, in time, even the relationship with your DIL will improve again - if your son and she can make a go of it in the long run, which is to be hoped for the sake of the children...

Life sure has its ups and downs, its goods and bads, its ins and outs.  And, you have a way of handling it all with joie de vivre.

Keep smiling darling.  I know you mioss them a lot but as was said by several of our friends, you have not lost them... they will be back and believe me... She will need you before you need her.  Life has a way of going around and around and everything returns to where it once was... Just enjoy your peace and quiet and you'll see it all will be OK.  xoxoxo

Obviously I can't relate as a parent, since my wife and I have no children, but I have witnessed similar "family squabbles," where someone had to try not to come in between an offspring and their "mate." But everyone is affected differently in these manners. In your case, it's the slight friction between you and your son, and the loss of time spent with your grandchildren. Unfortunately, I've known women like that in the past, and know of the men they have "fooled." Hopefully, the peace and quiet you now enjoy can make up for all of the other heartaches you obviously have to endure. Hang in there, and enjoy the hockey once it starts!

interesting. She and her Mother are going to get right tired withour any one else but themselves to do all the hard work. Stay tight love, she just might have to come crawling for help.
you are surely the most forgiving and loving person that she could ever have for a MIL. Pity she is too self centered and  Bitch to appreciate. Sending you hugs.

This is my old friend. You are so loving and giving and you anticipate others will do the same, knowing they often do not. Still it is far better to be as you are than to be one of the others. It will get better with the rug rats, you have not lost them by any means. Your big smile tells me you are healing well and fast. We all on Blogit love you and are happy for this drama to come to curtains!

One day karma is going to smack her upside the head and she will be the only one who is surprised! I think it's good that you have your place back to yourself even though you miss the youngsters! And, I admire how you take it with grace to put things back together, once again, and not become embittered about! Karma will smile handsomely on you one day and no one will be surprised whatsoever! It will happen! GO HABS, let's get those skates laced cuz I'm ready for hockey! WOOHOO! sam  {Here's Adnohr's smile! You could use it! [LOL]

Of course you feel pain Adnohr and disappointment but it was really cutting into your life and one must always think ahead. You have a whole life in front of you. You could meet someone nice and make sure he has a bob or two. That's my advice forget girlish notions.  Make sure he likes dogs though.

Maybe time will heal this one and the happy visits with the kids will resume. There's no dealing with a two-faced passive-aggressive narcissist. Sorry she's not able to recognize a friend.  :)
