Lucky for Lincoln that the founders left a way open to free the slaves, it was a battle that was begun before the signing of the Constitution. They call it the 3/5ths clause, but without it the South would have had too much political power. It's interesting now how so many think this clause was out of some kind of racial indifference, but it was to keep the south from gaining too many representative in the house of congress.  It is just one of the reasons the constitution took so long to get ratified.

I think it's good to use things that help us become better! I do not care for those types of films, mainly because I internalize things and they come back to haunt me in nightmares! sam

To be perfectly honest, I never watch any of the so-called "slasher" films, simply because I just don't find them very entertaining. But if watching these movies helps you to better identify those types of individuals you may wish to avoid, then by all means view away! I think if motion pictures had been around in Lincoln's time, those types of movies may have been banned because of the bloodiness of the Civil War that people had just lived through! No one would have needed to be reminded of the carnage and devastation men can inflict upon each other!
