I feel I am reliving my woes of five years ago when I read your problems. I used to pay to have things sorted and it was hopeless. Perhaps you will be lucky computers have improved a little knowledge is dangerous, my brother looked inside one of mine and found a reconditioned part. He now builds his and mine. Always take a snap shot when it is running perfectly. I am sure this is quite simple needs two or three disks and if any thing goes major one can reset the computer to that time again. Or throw it out of the window.
