Ther problem being today Jay not many want to feel what others feel. Most want oblivion banged out in chanting and stamping. In a previous existence you would have been a Witch Doctor contemplating the future as the tribal chant was stamped around the fire.
If you feel disappointed with the reaction to your poems, my advice would be just write what pleases for your own satisfaction. I cannot say I am enthralled with the work of many famous poets, but they had their day and there is no magic unless it is triggered in someones mind.
