Re: Annicita,

I'm going to write a post, to respond to this, because I think it's a very interesting point we're discussing.

i think it's not the whole class has to get it right but that each person comes to terms with what they need to and that we learn that we need to look at what we have in common and not how we differ....reach out to each other in hours of need...

Re: TAPS,

I doubt much that anyone human has rare courage every time they might-- but I don't have a single doubt that you have had your moments, taught and encouraged by the family you came from, and the one that has come from you.

There's a lot to think about here.  First of all, I'm not sure that I have always had rare courage.  It is difficult to own up to failure when one is used to being a winner.

Re:Kabu,

You snuck your comment in before I snuck mine in... which was not directed at yours.  You have learned a lot of tough life-lessons, and if God asks me, you've earned your time in the playground!  You get credit for being a teacher, too.

These two comments juxtaposed are very much to the point.

When you hand the lesson back to God, you are saying, "I can't do this, I can't make this decision, I can't choose." This doesn't mean that God will do it for you... You simply postpone the lesson.

And when you succeed, and tell God your truth:  "This was a dumb lesson, it didn't have to be this hard, it didn't have to hurt so many people... and what is it, with yellowjackets? What in the world are they good for?" And if God doesn't love you for it, then that isn't God.

I used to be very involved in the world, in politics in ethical issues etc.

now I am in your box of doing, by doing nothing.

I have alwys spoken the truth to the best of my ability and let the chips fall where they may. I don't know how to live othewise. I do expect God to set things right within His realm of a bigger plan. He always has. I could not imagine just falling into step to protect myself.

Funny how it works when we own up to a mistake...

I did that to a boss once, and he said "I find that very endearing." It led to a deeper level of trust on his part, and it was not misplaced.
