It was very sad what happened to those children.

Well at last we are able to bash a burglar without being prosecuted. Presumably shoot in self defence if one has a gun licence for sport etc. I suppose your culture has always played with guns.

One can be arrested here  for carrying a knife. A long way to go Ray. Nice to see you back again.

Re:

I believe in the right to bear arms, but why must we be saturated with military grade assault weapons? And not have strict regulations? Is it paranoia..?

Re:

A six month old baby was shot and killed in Aurora and still nothing changed...I fervently hope and pray this is the tipping point as far as gun control. I also wish people would realize we are a militarized culture, perhaps by design? - endless wars which dehumanize - how many of us get upset over young children being killed and maimed overseas with our drones and bombs and guns - in our names, with our taxes..? More questions than answers..Thank you for reading and commenting..

I would throw the last weapon into the deep blue sea to become a reef.

but that isn't practical either and my son has guns for shooting at a tin can....in Australia he has to have a licence for each one and they are kept locked in a gun safe only he knows the combination to.

I believe people should have one gun in their house if they decided to do so for their protection. But not having a collection of it. What happened in Newtown was very tragic and sad

I think people are going to feel this one for a long time, primarily because very young children were involved. There just doesn't seem to be a simple solution, nor a "quick fix," to this ridiculous problem. To carry a gun or to not carry a gun . . . where the heck are the definitive answers?
