Naut,
I think they are the same species, bred for different styles of fin and color. The veil-tail (the yellow one) is, I believe, the original form.

No other veil-tailed fish is safe around them, like fancy guppies, frinstance.

I know next to nothing about tropical fish, which is what these are, I take it, and they are certainly beautiful. But I understand they don't get along with one another, LOL; are the yellow ones and the red-and-green ones different versions of the same breed?

we call them Asian fighting fish and that is why they usually have their
own little tank. They are very territorial. My Sister had one and if we showed him a mirror his colors would brighten and his fins and tail spread. these are very pretty.
