- Go to Seeing For Myself The Votes On The Civil Rights Act Of 1964
I learned a long time ago that the Democrats and Republicans always have and always will snipe at each other over everything they may disagree about. However, although I am not doubting your findings or contradicting your thoughts, I have also learned over the years to not necessarily trust every poll or group of percentages I read. Those numbers may indeed be dead-on accurate, but I guarantee you will find groups of people who will feel or say that they are not. Regardless, one can still gain a pretty good perspective into the thinking process of both Democrats and Republicans when it comes to such voting. I don't suppose things have changed all that much over the past 50 years or so!
