Things are going to get tougher everywhere I think. I remember England in
the swinging sixties...things weren't easy then either, unless you were filthy rich. I enjoyed the poem and the end again was a shock to me. You are brilliant with writing very different ends to what one expects.

Well we can always have half a carrot Ray. I did see though that bread will go up as the wheat harvest was poor and hard grain will have to be imported. Yukky Another try at the old veins tomorrow, a hot water bottle under my coat might do the trick. Arthur said drink three pints of coffee, but I have to get a parking space 40minutes before I get jabbed and it is a balancing act.

Sometimes, when I think about things going on as they are,
I begin to consider the 21st of December, the end of days, as not such a bad idea. What, really, would be gained by more drought, more flood, more taxes, more false prophets, higher prices, fewer jobs... *sigh*

I was always one to enjoy reclining upon the floor pile for a change, until my old bones and joints rebelled about how difficult it was to, in the end, get back up on my feet.
About this 50% of yours, I think our President is of the opinion to just let us go over the cliff instead of fighting it.
