Well done photo poetry..

Such a shame the Indians and settlers couldn't quite bond; they had so much in common and could have really helped each other...

A wonderful recounting of their trials and sacrifices.  It is like today in someways with hard times for some.  One thing after the other goes to make it and human wolves prey on the weak.  Love the pictures; I miss the west having lived there a few years. A most thought provoking poem, beautifully illustrated.

well done cowboy, I thought it might be mighty tough, fancy coming from England or Ireland and seeing dust instead of green.

This is really telling to me. One of my great-grandmother's lost her husband in the Civil war and she had seven children. She took them and went west on a wagon train. Two sons died on the way. Two stayed. She later returned with the other three, the youngest my grandfather.

Wow!  Good writing.  I'll never forget when, as a teen, I read about the Donner Party.  What they went through back then moving west for a new life.
