Re: Huh?

Hey, Jimmy. It's Isaiah. What's this about losing the christmas spirit, man?  Unlike my wife, I think the good times and joy of christmas are still here--it's just as they say each year: life is what you make it   Well christmas can be looked at in the same way. You're usually the positive one. Happy holidays anyway.

Our parents made sure that we, as kids, would have these memories of that special time to look back on...and carry forward for each of our new generations of children. We do that in my house - the tree, the gifts, the music, the huge meal...and hopefully the grandchildren will keep it up when it's their turn to show their own kids. I love Christmas!!!

I couldn't agree more! Christmas is for children! The older you get, the more of a pain in the butt it usually turns out to be! But when I was a kid, we had some great traditions, a few of which some of my siblings still carry out. On Christmas Eve, we would gather at my grandparent's, and one of my uncles would sneak out and return as Santa, and give gifts to me, my brothers and sisters, and my cousins. Then we would go home, and watch the best version of "The Christmas Carol" ever made ( the 1951 version with Allister Simm ). Then the next morning, dad would play Santa and give us our gifts. Aah, the good ol' days . . .

The holidays are indeed a tough time for many a person...I go to my mother's house for Christmas in the morning where presents are opened and then later for dinner.
