You brought back memories for me from the same time of course and we had a big old radio too but I can't remember the name. It was shaped like church door with an sloping oval top.

I didn't grow up with a TV either, TAPS. The only time I ever really watched it was with my children - those lovely cartoons...then hockey, of course. But it feels as if I skipped from radio right to the internet. Tonto - I liked Tonto.

we did the same, would huddle close to the wood stove in the kitchen and
listen to the radio in the evenings.
