I have to comment Jay...
Hi Jay, I've been reading many of your posts today and I really want to comment on a few of them. I'll start with this most recent poem and the one before it. The warmth of love and counting blessings. I truly love them both. I'm looking forward to winter, although it's been warm here in California, despite the rain, I still turn on my fan and leave my bedroom window open all night(my poor husband, Lol) and as for counting my blessings, I don't have grandchildren yet, want them desperately, but am in no hurry for my boys to make them. At least not for another five years or so. My oldest is just 18, my youngest will be 16 next month. My family is a blessing though. All I have are the boys and my husband, as my mom, dad, grandfathers and grandmothers have all passed on years ago. Now at the tender age of 50 something(
), I am the matriarch of the family. I so miss the days when I would go to dinners at their homes, now I'm the one who does all the cooking for the holidays.
really, I want to comment most of all on your post "the choice is yours" and "when I was liberal" You sound so much like my husband. He was also in the Marines and the words you write sound so much like what he says, different words, but same sentiment. He believes our country is a Capitalist Country, as unpopular of a statement as that is, i tend to agree. Especially when I read words like yours. Freedom is a word we use way too loosely. There really is no such thing as beign free. We may have more rights than other countries, and can more liberties, but freedom...? Everyone from the president on down has someone telling them what to do, everyone and i agree completely with everything you say about the Democrats. I vote with the Democratic party, because I feel like it's the least of two evils, but in all actuality, I despise the way the govenment is running or should I say ruining this country. I can go on and on and on Jay, but I think, I hope, you get my meaning. You put it so elegantly and sensible. Easy to understand and truthful. I hope everyone reads your post and pays attention to whats going on or we're all going to hell in a basket. Thank you for your posts, and your words both of education, wisdom, and simple common sense. Much respect fellow writier. Take a bow. Controversyme.
