I think the world comes to an end for lots of folks every day...Heart attacks, cancer, car accidents...Why worry, be happy.

Well I hope she poked the eggs back up the right way round and they are wet I have had eggs laid into my hand, but that was a special trick to stop them falling on the ground a bit like a midwife.Or even like buying presents that one feels will not be appreciated,

I don't expect the world to end on the 21st...
When I was married the first time my mother-in-law was a fanatic, dragged us to all kinds of revivals and big preachings by doomsday shouters and hellfire-and-brimstone types out to rake in "love offerings" from crowds of twenty thousand or so at the arena over in St. Louis. That first time we went around all upset until "the last day" went by. After I was out of that family there were still other predictions; Jehovah's Witnesses began predicting the second coming in San Francisco on a day in April several years ago, etc., etc., etc. And then, when we least expect it will come a whimper or a bang.

So that's where you get your inspiration for Christmas shopping . . . last-minute desperation! Yeah, we've all seen and read about these end-of-the-world predictions before, each being a little more ridiculous than the previous one. Two things everyone seems to forget about this "Mayan calender" prediction is that 1) it was based on their calendar, not ours, and 2) it pertains to the end of a certain harvest cycle, and nothing else. I have an article I saved from many months ago concerning this, and it deals with interviews of people of Mayan decent, all of whom find it both assinine and amusing that certain people now live in fear of the world ending on December 21st! A post for another day . . .

I love you attitude to Christmas shopping. Some how it lacks the Joy of
the Christmas Spirit....which is probably the wrong word to use, Spirit....because of the scotch an all....I am just rambling here....take care of you and I am not expecting any end to the World. Why we even have a cease fire in the Israel debarcle!!!
