You're quite welcome on the "correction." About those male and female singing voices, I personally have no preference, but have heard some that were far better than others! I also look upon a singer's voice as another instrument to accompany the rest of the music. Some also fit better than others! Just my opinion . . .

Well Naut I am a barbarian, I only like singing voices when I can understand what they are singing so that rather cuts through quite a lot. Although I must say I quite like stamping around midnight Fire singing unger unger unger.

I must be eclectic as I like music, all music, soft, loud, misty, spitting fire what ever, except for 1. opera and 2. rap. 1. because I cannot understand the words and, 2. because I can understand the words. And there is no better place to listen to music than in your car, on a road trip turning up the Zepelin and Tull and down a notch on Sinatra or Dorsey...I like my J S Bach and Beethoven turned up too...I think they called it earsplittingloudenboomer.

Very interesting post! Several of my friends who are intellectually designed are great fans of classical music.

Nautikos

'I like those kind of singers, doing Christmas music Naut. Also I like them, singing pop. Why? I guess because I relate to it. Before film I had and still do hold a degree in history. So I need modern images in my beautiful music. And not heavy. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

should i sing for you now?  i can clear a room in no time...at least according to my ex...maybe that's one of the many reasons why he is my ex...

Classical - now that's different. I can enjoy that, because operatic

voices are trained, clear as bells, even singing in Italian - which I don't understand - the words are distinct. I like the baritones and bass voices, they caress me... My complaint was about pop music, the kind you'd hear on "The Voice" or "American Idol" where it's all styling and volume. I also think my irritation stems from some hearing loss and tinnitis.

now this is a fascinating post...up there with your doggies and Nauts.

tidbits....could do with more of those ....For me to listen to rather than to watch for she was very large and um plain but Joan Sutherland was the most perfectly controlled and pitch perfect Soprano!

Saw Pavarotti in Sydney and was ready to die afterwards.

That makes sense, Naut--the evolution angle

I love a deep, mellow voice, and especially like the lower female registers.  Mary Travers... Marilyn McCoo... A deep male voice is a manly voice in my ears, and makes me all... femalishly happy!
