Re:

I would be genuinely surprised, C C T, if you could find that word anywhere, except in my short story of course! And when the time comes for my collection of short stories to be placed on Kindle, I will definitely let everyone know! Someday soon, I hope . . .

Re:

Thanks, TAPS. I try to keep everyone intrigued and entertained! And if I do say so myself, if creating that bogus baseball league had been a creative writing assignment, I think my friend and I may have received an A+ for our efforts!

Re:

Oh, he let us have our fun alright, calia! And being not-so-clever 13 year-olds, we actually thought we were pulling the wool over his eyes! But in the end, we proved our creative capabilities, and I guess that's all that matters now! I would love to run into that teacher some day and see if he actually remembers all of that. Glad you enjoyed it!

Wow you were a little rascals, a good tale and a worthy inclusion into your collection. One day we may see it on Kindle? I am still going to look 'Gleffle' up perhaps being a school teacher you spelled it incorrectly anyway this onboard ratty spell checker ignores the word.

You definitely are a person with imagination and creativity.  Besides that, you are fun to read.

I absolutely love it!  I'm a sucker for nonsense words, and how cool that your teacher went along with you and let you have your fun.

Re:

Very good, luster! You may actually be right! How would one go about researching such a thing? Know any "elf experts?"

Re:

It's not available yet, adnohr, but I'm hoping some day soon! Glad you liked this tale, and yes, the teacher was cool in going along with it. Talk about turning the tables on a couple of silly ( but clever ) teens!

Re:

Thanks, Utah. And of course, the final line of the short story is me asking my friend what the heck a gleffle is! Would you be interested in following a baseball league with such an unusual scoring system? I think it would be bizarre but interesting . . .

Re:

Well, Annicita, I don't think we thought we were being smarter than our teacher, as much as we thought we were simply "fooling" him just by being clever on our own. But in the end, we learned the hard way that that's why he's the teacher, and we were the students! A tough, but fun, lesson!

Re: what a great Teacher, no wonder he went on to become a Proff.

And that we did, Kabu. You may be right. He may have been simply "playing along" just to see how creative we could become, and how long we would attempt to go on with such a ridiculous ruse. It was fun though, and I got a terrific short story out of it!

Re:

Glad to know, Bright. Yeah, that was one of my more elaborate creative endeavors. I guess it's probably just as well that our teacher wasn't completely fooled. He might not be considered much of an "educator" in certain circles if he could have been duped so easily!

Thanks, Justi. Glad you enjoyed it. A wonderful Thanksgiving to you and yours as well!

Re: Jimmy

That really was the punchline, Naut. What's that old saying? "You can't con a con man?" Hey, as a couple of young teens, the least we tried, creatively too! Glad you liked my tale.

Re:

Indeed it is, FSI. Looking back, probably the funniest part about the whole scenario was the fact that we actually did think we were fooling our teacher! Hey, when you're a couple of semi-clever 13 year-olds, I guess you feel you can fool anybody! Oh how wrong we were!

LOL - Love it!! Brilliant imaginary set-up, and the prof was cool in going along with it. Where is your book published?

what a great Teacher, no wonder he went on to become a Proff.

all the time that you thought that you were getting him with your wonderful story he was encouraging you both to use your imagination and to think outside the Circle.

Hi .. Great attempted prank on your teacher and thanks for letting us know the word was also phoney ! You really are a good story teller and should have your work published, I'd buy a copy.

Jimmy

I like this, both you elaborate practical joke and your tale of it...And in the end I think the teacher fooled you guys, in making you believe he'd bought your story...

That is a terrific nonsense word. That was neat what the two of you tried to pull off...Reading this reminds me that it's a small world.
