visiting a familiar place
i have lived with a cheating husband that will not admit he has cheated and has always professed his love for me. if a man would tell me he does not love me anymore, then i would say ok, what do you want to do? but if a man cheats and says he loves you then there must be something in his life or something lacking in his life that causes him to do it. life is not simple, we do things for reasons we do not know. and that includes staying with a cheating man, i do not know the reasons or at least all of the reasons i stayed.

It's a situation where I would have to be in those shoes to truly say. I would like to think that it would never happen to my (hypothetical) marriage. I know of people who stuck it out anyway while others did file for divorce.

Dear SF there are many folk living together who deplore the sight of each other and yet do not wish to face the challenge of a new life which may be no better. Probably a solution would be to divide the residence into two and live as two separate entities.
