I'm a mallshopper as well. I would shop at Mom and Pop businesses, but sadly they are all gone.

I used to but now we are all set here and I have to save for my next flight to Australia...makes spending difficult! tee hee I shall go shopping in my sisters closet when I am with her!!!

but to actually buy I enjoy little boutique shops with different things like...made in Canada, Australia, the UK, or USA. Or more and more from the Internet. but then I don't buy much of anything actually.

You should try it. Most of those downtowns have been rejuvenated and are wonderful places to shop. I don't like Malls because they are all the same, some a bit more upscale but they are not personal enough for me.
