I would not be surprised if one wins the popular vote but loses the electoral college...Personally I don't see a vote for a third party candidate as a waste, but that is a long blog post for another day.

Since I've already voted, the polls and ads are rolling off my back...
I'm interested now in what effect the Frankenstorm will have on the campaigns, the voting, etc. Difficult to get in that last-minute killer blow when 50 million people are riding out the storm with no electricity.

Cutting off their nose to spite their face is how my grandma would have put it. It will be very interesting to see the result of this election.

Katray, so many are voting against their self interest. Mom is smart!

Dsm, I check Nate Silver's 538 blog on a regular basis
He is a statistician, math wizard who made very accurate election predictions in 2008 and 2010. He currently predicts Obama winning the electoral college and ahead in the popular vote by around 2 percentage points, which is a razor thin margin and could change either way. Some pundits think Obama will win the e. college but lose the popular vote.
My Mother liked the Tea Party for a short while until she finally saw supporting them wasn't in her best interest as a middle class retiree. Sad to say though, she agreed with many of their prejudiced views but she has already cast her vote for Obama - the power of self interest is amazing..
