Naut
I am with you. When I heard this I thought what good is science if those in the community haven't enough intelligence to recon with the static of any sort. This was so stupid, but I find so many Scientists are just such. Al Gore for example, he is over the wall and back again. This man, one in the article, had no reason to even think that he would be in legal trouble for doing what he believed right.

Let's hope so. How about looking at the other side of the coin? What if the scientists had misread the information in front of them and did predict that a devastating earthquake was forthcoming? Many things could have happened during a hastened relocation of various groups of people, who may have been forced to panic unnecessarily. To hold these men accountable is absolutely ridiculous!

It's unbelievable that this happened. Like you I hope that justice prevails and that the scientists are freed.

I'm a bit stunned over that one, too. What happened to the
legal allowances for acts of God? Decision is Stupido!

Yes, I read this too and this whole thing really makes the judiciary system there look like they pass judgements based on what they feel instead of using their heads and factual assumptions!!

That is such an unreasonable thing to do. How could anyone not be shocked.
Wasn't it enough just to fire them if they thought they were not doing the job they were hired to do. What about criminal intent? Doesn't there have to be some of that?

Oh I shouldn't get started on Italians. I must not get started on Italians
Oh damn....that such a beautiful country with such rich history and the renaisance and all...that such a place on this planet could be populated with such rude, ignorant, sexist, perverted, and apparently uneducated individuals....and how did these judges ever get a job...........well not I won't get started!!!!!

I read that this afternoon and was astounded at the stupidity of the courts too, Naut. It can't possibly hold up - hopefully Italy's law about not having an appeal being illegal is the door through which they can shove this ridiculous farce!
